1972 "Hockey Night In Moscow" 1st Edition Hardcover Book
I have for sale the out-of-print, 1st edition, hardcover book "Hockey Night
In Moscow" by Jack Ludwig (1972) with original drawings by Aislin,
Introduction by Howie Meeker. The edition contains 190 pages of text as
well as the original drawings profiling the behind-the-scenes look at the
USSR-Canada hockey series.
Front Jacket Excerpt:
"The most important international sporting event ever held, at least from
the Canadian point of view! The sportswriter, the players, the coaches have
all had their say. Now the whole inside story has been recorded in the
sharp incisive prose of the Norman Mailer of Canadian fiction and
journalism, Jack Ludwig, who also just happens to be a rabid hockey
fan...Ludwig, who followed the team to Moscow, not only describes all the
games and the action in Canada and Russia, on and off the ice, but also
delves into the whole sociological impact of bruised national pride and its
impact on this nation and its future. This is a book you will want to read
and treasure, not least of all for the superb satiric drawings by Aislin,
who in the space of a few short years has become recognized as one of the
wittiest and most acerbic artists yet to appear."
The 1972 "Hockey Night In Moscow" 1st edition hardcover book is in
