So now it begs the question, what to do with it? I say get Erik Johnson at
all costs, or trade down.

I'd pick Jordan Staal, younger brother of Eric and the 3rd brother to
go in the first round. Gotta love the family genes.

Johnson is the only Kid I've heard about who else is in that range of
players?
I thought most see him as the top guy so some one else educate me on who is
coveted by other scouts/teams.

Not only dangle it, dangle it with Gonchar. Imagine Gonchars money spent on
a Redden, Chara, Jovanowski. Now those sound like defensemen. While Sergei
played alot better 2nd half, it still does not justify his salary, which
will always be a burden to this financially stricken club. We arent the
Yankees, we cant just throw money at a player and they dont perform to the
contract.

I dont see any clubs willing to take on Gonchars salary even if Pens gave
him for no return.

no way. The best thing that can happen with Sergei is that we keep our
collective fingers crossed that he comes out of the gate playing the way he
played since the o break.
