I didn't get to see the game but if we out shot them 41-18 on the surface it
looks like we got outplayed in goal. Thats a lot of shots and not many
allowed. Thats not gonna help "Hankeys" save %.
At least Jagr finally scored I see here. Wrister from the lower circle
according to this graphic.

"Hankey"?

That is another useless stat, like +/-. I wonder how many of those
shots were high quality/high percentage shots and not just someone
teeing off from outside the blue line or just a soft shot from the
corner even you could have stopped?

Many of them were very good chances. Smith was much much much better
than the Rangers today.

The Rangers dominated for most of the game.

Lundqvist was really bad. The first two goals were awful.

Jagr's goal was a pass that bounced off of Joel Lundqvist's knee and
in.

C'mon people it's usenet. Here we even get to reply to the imaginary
voice in our head.

Currently I'm hunkered down in some fleabag shell of a hotel in South
Beach Miami as a Category 4 hurricane hits. NOW I wish I had
evacuated. Oh well....gotta ride it out. Wish me luck.

The first goal was a breakaway - can't kill a goalie for getting beat by a
guy with good hands. 2nd goal - another breakaway - not a great shot but
still - 1 on 1 against him. Final goal had no chance (I know you didn't
include this goal) - basically a one-timer into an open net.

I think saying he was really bad is simply being accustomed to great.
Rangers need to finish so when Henry is just good they can win once in a
while. He can't be expected to win every game himself.

I've seen the Devils lose a hundred game likes this. All kinds of fancy
passing and perimeter shots combined with making the other goalie look
like a hall of famer.

This type of thing will come back to bite them big time late in the
season when they're completely burnt out trying to win one goal games
every night.

The first goal he was beaten by a non move. The second surprised him
and beat him five hole. Neither was highlight reel stuff for the
scorer.

Yeah, I know my definition of "bad" is skewered (moreso after a loss),
but the more bad games Lundqvist has, the more apparent it becomes to
everyone that they really really really really really really really
need to figure out how to score some goals.

Plus, it looks like they're going to enjoy the fun of something else
we've dealt with for years - the burned out goalie.

They even have a guy who makes all kinds of fancy rushes and passes up
great scoring chances by not shooting. <g>
