Well, $4.5M for Theodore isn't laughable, anyway. Or at least, not
laughable at Theodore's expense. :) Did Huet want _more_ than that?
If not, I wonder why they made the switch?

Well, that wasn't predictable. But certainly pretty harmless for us.
Those of us who think Huet is good, anyway. :) I wonder where
Khabibulin has been traded. Colorado? :)

Well, they've probably set a record that'll stand for a while in terms
of how much they're paying for goalies, anyway. $12M+. Khabibulin's
in the last year of his deal, so he should be more tradeable than he
has previously been for them.
Some pretty wild contracts... as expected, but there are always
surprises. Finger's contract has to rank up there. He's pretty
decent, I wouldn't have been upset to see us sign him. At about half
of what the Leafs paid. It'll be interesting to see if any teams have
any money left to sign the big guys like Hossa, Sundin, et al.
Wouldn't it be funny if everybody spent themselves out on the Fingers
and Huets and Theodores. :)

Yeah, I think Jim and I (and maybe some others) have explained
ourselves often enough on that one. I still mock Gainey for trading
Huet. Mock! Mock!

The buzz on HFBoards is that Huet was looking for $15M/3Y, but Backstrom
& Semin's contracts both come up after two years. So a 3Y term for Huet
could've caused the Capitals cap issues in that third year.
And Huet just went to Chicago!

Post-cap, yes. Pre-cap, Wings paid $16M for the tandem of Hasek and
Joseph.
