Then why the press release/damage control? Why did Sather hide him in
the locker room after the game? Why not just show up at practice the
next day and say "sorry, guys, nothing happened. You know sports,
things just take on a life of their own. Consider the source of the
report."
I'm reading the grey between the black and white. It just looks too
much like Avery was trying to damage control something that shouldn't
have been an issue, especially if a hack reporter was the one doing
the accusing.
Where there is smoke there is fire.

Right. As i said, i'm as anxious as anyone to see the outcome. I just
have to say that knowing Avery's history, you have to lend credednce
that he's more apt to to have said it then not.

Hopefully, this will get solved soon. To the best of anyone's
knowledge anyway. >> Stay informed about: Avery is a genius |

The threatened (by Leafs fans at least) penalties for Avery were never
mentioned for an a hole like Clarke ... who can sit at his desk and
call up Sather to find some of Dolan's crack whores while in town ...
That's my point ... even if Avery made some sort of dumb comment in
the heat of a confrontation ... >> Stay informed about: Avery is a genius |

I'm just imagining in the near future, a tied playoff game in overtime
between the Devils and Rangers, and the infamous Matteau chant being
replaced with Avery as he stuffs one past Brodeur. Rckwy5 goes into the

I had only read the article, but I went back and read the comments.
Judging by the comments, the guy certainly doesn't seem like a
reliable source at all. Whether Avery said it or not may never be
known, but when your proof is "an unnamed source", one might err on
the side of caution. It's not as if it was something meaningless like
a trade rumor. >> Stay informed about: Avery is a genius |
