What's his leashholder, Master Shanahan, going to say?

"Yep, Aves called him Cancer Boy. Told Blake he 'aint gonna make it to
the All-Star break, so be better enjoy it."

Come on....

Even if he did say it, you don't think a teammate is going to second
it, do you? Especially dealing with a nutjob like Avery?

But, you're not exactly saying he's capable of such a thing, either.

You're saying since there's no proof *yet*, he's clean. True, as of
now, but we're not talking a Lady Byng winner here. There's a reason
he's meeting with Campbell. His history is 99% of the reason.

I'm asking you given this player's history, you honestly don't think
he said it?

*yet*. Again, you do not believe he's capable, given his history?

But one's convicted and fined, the other isn't.

I think you should take your own advice when you look at Avery. His
jersey seems to make you think past his character.

3 Cups later, i'm past 1994. I'm more angry over 2001.

That's not the point. The point is, Shanahan is Avery's leashholder.
Shanahan wanted him in NY. Shanahan is covering for him.

Again, i said, what is Shanahan going to say? That he indeed mouthed
off, yet again? He's not throwing Avery under the bus.

Again, tie 1994 into it anyway you see fit.

Covering up goes on every sport, everyday. However, when it's prior
knowledge that a particular person is looking out for another person
everyday to keep them in line ....well then it's a little different.

Believe who you want, it doesn't make it any more or less true.
However, you need to look at it beyond a perspective of black and
white.

We'll see what Campbell says.

Is it not amazing the insanely huge deal being made out of this and yet
nobody has any clue what he said? Did he call Blake "cancer boy"?

It's too late for him.

Well so far, the only source to this story is an unnamed Rangers
player and a Toronto writer who apparently has a history of
fabricating stories.

I hope he didn't say anything cancer related, but who knows.

But, Brodeur is a diver. Avery being a diver doesn't mean that no one
else can be a diver.

Is there anyone who plays for the Rangers that you don't think is some
despicable, lying cheater? Are you still so hung up on 1994 that you
can't see past the jersey some guy wears?

Shanahan certainly may be covering for Avery, but it's not like he's
notorious for being a scumbag. When it comes to Darcy Tucker and
Jason Blake versus Brendan Shanahan, I know who I'm more apt to
believe.

Can't argue with that logic.

I'm not sure how you can read "I hope he didn't say anything cancer
related, but who knows." and interpret it as me saying he's incapable
of saying it. I definitely hope he didn't.

He's meeting with Campbell for getting into shouting matches in two
consecutive pregames. Again, the only talk of cancer has come from a
reporter. Not from the Leafs, not from the Rangers, and not from the
NHL.
