Post subject: Avs sign one of the Wings' best "prospects"

Avs signed Matt Hussey today. 5gp with the Wings last year. 3rd leading
scorer of the Grand Rapids Griffins last year.

Scored nearly 3x as many points last season as 06-07 NHL Hart Trophy
finalist Evan "Gretzky" McGrath.

Avs also signed useless scrub goalie Tyler Weiman and plugger Eric
Healey, none of whom will ever wear an Avs uni, in all likelihood.

I certainly hope he never makes your roster. Outside of a few
emergency call-ups, he was never going to make this one. Guy's just
not an NHL hockey player.

Then again, this is probably the best thing for him. The surest way
to be labeled a bright, young prospect is to move to Denver, even at
the age of 28.

It looks like they are putting the right amount of emphasis on putting a
competitive new AHL team on the ice in Cleveland while also adding a little
bit more organizational depth this off-season. It would be fun to catch a
Lake Erie Monster game someday. Never been to Cleveland.
