Something Awesome

I didn't realize this until I just read it but the Maple Leafs have not been to
the Stanley Cup Finals since 1967 when they last won the Cup, a streak of 37
years now- the longest in the NHL. Of the teams that entered the league in 1967
(Los Angeles, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, and Oakland) the
Kings were the last to make the Finals (Oakland never made it but since they're
not around anymore they dont count) and they did it with their Game 7 win over
Toronto that we all remember, but the awesome thing is that if the Kings hadn't
won that game their streak would now be at 37 years and would be the current
longest by a lot. Instead the Kings made it and in this one little instance
it's Toronto who gets to be the most pathetic team in hockey instead of the
Kings!! Woo-hoo!

Also, another fun little fact about the Kings win in Game 7 in 1993- it was the
only time Toronto ever lost a Game 7 on their home ice in 7 tries.

That was such a great season...
