The Flames travelled to Wiltshire on Saturday night to take on the
Swindon Wildcats, and 4 different Flames scorers helped the club to a
4-1 win. The Flames opened the scoring through Paul Dixon in the
opening session at 6:29, a shorthanded strike while Ben Johnson was
serving a minor penalty. The goal put the Flames in front by 1 as the
clubs headed to the middle session. In the second, the Flames
dominated play, outshooting their opponents 22-7, and were rewarded
with a pair of strikes with goals from Rick Plant at 24:07 and Jozef
Kohut at 38:09. In the final frame the clubs traded goals as the
Flames extended their lead to 4-0 when David Savage found the goal at
49:40 before the Wildcats finally broke Joe Watkins shutout bid at
51:17 with their only strike of the evening. The win gave the Flames
a pair of league points, lifting them to within 5 points the league
table lead.
