Didn't even listen to it to guess what Bettman said. Most of it
probably was his reassurance the league is healthy financially and
attendance wise, teams are making $, the TV contract is great since it
was extended and a good sign for the league, and oh yeah, his usual
gushing over anything Rangers since he believes it gives *attention*
to the league. Bettman's usual BS, different interview. Hard to
believe he'd actually talk about anything different.

I like how he suggests that they play a double header in Michigan.
Michigan vs. Michigan State football, then a hockey game later.

They had a terrible enough time building a rink well ahead of time in
Buffalo. I don't understand why he thinks they could throw one up in
a couple hours after a football game.

You may be right, but wouldn't that actually be even worse? 120
minutes of hockey on an outdoor rink?

No no. I mean the condition of the ice will be terrible. It was
terrible 10 minutes into the Buffalo/Pittsburgh game.

Actually he gushed over the Devils new arena, called it the best in
North America.

Aren't you at least proud to know that, even including the 5 Islanders
fans, NHL fans are the most affluent and best educated sports fans?

It's alright by me, my ass will be warm on the couch. Besides, have
you seen college kids drink? They won't even know they're outside.

LOL, I heard he said that (not the part about the Islander fans, I think).
What a tool. "We'll grow the game by offending everyone who is listening
to Mike and the Mad Dog and doesn't like hockey anyway."

"You don't like hockey because we're smarter than you and make more money
than you can ever dream of."

The affluent part, I buy. The smart part? The affluent people are
underwriting the NHL and playing insane ticket prices to keep it afloat.
Dunno if that's very smart, sounds more like the bottom level of a ponzi
scheme.

Not even if His Holinessness Commissioner Bettman makes them?

Perfect! That should let the speedier players showcase their talent on
national TV. Just to make sure, though, there will be a resurfacing
every two minutes of playing time.

I think his Holinessness was out to lunch when these rumors started. He
had some not-so-nice things to say about NJSEA too. He called their
building "soulless", and if there's anyone that knows about soullessness...
