Sure. Now why would they have to keep JFJ on under Bowman, but not
Fletcher? Bowman wasn't hired because he's done. Done like a
dinner.

You must have been a Tiger Williams fan.

It's quite simple. If Peddie had Bowman retain JFJ, it would reflect
positively and add credibility to his stupid hiring of JFJ in the first
place.

Once that ship sailed, Peddie must have thought it would be no prob
hiring the new GM / pres, and cleared the deck to male room for
the new hire. The new guy would overshadow questions of why JFJ
was hired originally.

When all that went south, Peddie went to plan C--form a committee to
find a guy and shut up.

Of course this is just my analysis from 3000 miles away and any similarity
to fact might be coincidental.
