hmmmmmm - lets see now. Markov, Boyle, Komisaerk, Hamirlik,
Decent top 4 - maybe the leagues best in fact.

Boyle on the point with Markov on the pp - probably a very good combo.

5 and 6 are Boullion and OByrne.

6Mill a year. Yep, can do.

Room for Sundin should he decide to play too and in fact may even give
Sundin the extra push..

I think Boyle is overpriced for what he does. And it's not a contract
that you could ever get out of easily; it would do us some harm in our
efforts to retain other core players next season. He's a good player,
but maybe not as elite as his salary suggests, and he doesn't provide
elements that we are in most need of. Basically, he'd chew up all of
our remaining cap space for this year, and burden us for years to
come. I don't think I'd pick him up for free if he was on waivers.
As harsh as that sounds, it's just part of the business of the modern
cap world. There ought to be a number of other teams out there who
are much more in need of what he brings than we are, and he'd probably
do very well in some of those places.

Gerry

Montreal has about $10.881M cap space left.
They still need to sign Grabovski, O'Byrne,
Gorges and Halak. That does not leave room
for Boyle ($6.667M) and Sundin ($7M/$10M)
