What is the situation w. Scratchard? His name always pops up during the
trade deadlines as being on the block ... and the rumours always seem to
suggest that we will have him. Any thoughts?

How do you guys like Cairns? I think a good swap for Laraque ...

It would be a great time and a bad time to trade Laraque right now.
He's playing great, so his value is higher, but if we trade him, I think
it would hurt the team more then anything. I don't think we need any
d-men right now, just some help up front scoring.

Don't get me wrong, Laraque has been one of my favorites ... but he just
isn't fighting much anymore. He needs the fire back. Maybe lastnight got him
going again - I hope !

So does everyone else. The last 5 games or so he's played great. He's
one of those "tough" guys that doesn't have to fight to make an impact
on a game, and he's been doing that the last bit, which is great to see.
It's just too bad he didn't do this back in October.

I would like Scatchard an Alberta Boy but he wouldn't come cheap. Don't
trade George, play the guy.

Tall, rugged center with excellent work ethic credits Mike Keenan for his
early professional development. One of the NHL's best at faceoffs, finishing
ninth in 1999-00 with 56.6 winning percentage. Three times that season he
had games where he won 90 percent of his faceoffs. Went 19-0 on faceoffs
against Devils on Jan. 21, 2000. Best shooting percentage (13.5) among
1997-98 rookies.
