And it will only get worse for the fans this year. The Cheap owners
have put an inferior product on the ice. They are being outshot
virtually every game and outplayed. To the Wild players credit, they
outhustle their opponent every game, but the lack of talent catches up
with them. The Wild are still averaging 103% of attendance capacity,
but I say within a year or two, if the Cheap Wild owners don't spend
some money to upgrade the team, the fan base will begin to fall off.
Then the owners will probably try to move the team like Norm Green and
then sell to make even more money. One thing is for sure about the
current owners, it is all about the money, and definitely not about
winning a championship (unless they can do it spending pennies to others
dollars). >> Stay informed about: Cheap Wild Owners Just Lost 8 of Last 11 Games |

So, go find some other NHL team to obsess over. Meanwhile, the AHL guys are
only 13-4-1-1...

And that Houston Team will never win the Stanley Cup. The Wild are in
last place in the Northwest Division. They have more point than only 3
other teams in the entire Western conference. You win with talent, and
the WILD OWNERS ARE TOO CHEAP TO GET THE TALENT THEY NEED TO COMPETE.
Their current owners do not have deep pockets, and are lucky to even own
a team. May Wilf will buy the team and spend some money. >> Stay informed about: Cheap Wild Owners Just Lost 8 of Last 11 Games |

Hey but at least I am going to see the Habs and Senators at Xcel. There
is an upside to having an NHL team in town.

When building the XCel Energy Center, construction was under-budget. Rather
than pocket the difference, the Ownership decided to re-invest the surplus
into a Scoreboard upgrade. I don't think that the Wild's ownership is
"cheap", it's just that Risebrough is very committed to "develop within the
system". I don't necessarily agree with that (I think there's a time to go
get more Rolstons) but I wanted to make the clarification.
Personally, I think the team really misses it's core players. Walz and
Mitchell are still here -- but letting go of guys like Brunette, Laaksonen,
Ronning and the late Zholtok has really hurt this team. Heck, even the fire
of Moose and Brown is gone.
My big disappointment with the team is how long Kyle Wanvig has been in the
press box. He (rightly) stood up for a teammate, and now has been a
healthy-scratch for... what? 9 games or so? He's not going to get better
watching games in street clothes. And he's the only guy we have who will
consistently set up in front of the net. I'd hate to think that Lemaire is
being petty about the fine that came with Wanvig's suspension. But with the
lack of another explanation... [sigh]

The Wild are one team that really had a "strategy" for dealing with the
"labor dispute." They laid-off a bunch of people! LOL! It's just
capitalism in action... >> Stay informed about: Cheap Wild Owners Just Lost 8 of Last 11 Games |
