Not pretty. Not deserved. But a win.

At least we saw the Marleau line crash the net - a sign of progress.

Despite two goals, the power play remains inept in handling the puck.
4 of 26, overall.

And, how many times did the Sharks clear their zone, just to toss it
limply and immediately back to Chicago? Even Remenda was commenting
and doing a little video vignette on how stupid and wrong this was.

They have to get a LOT better if they want any pretense at being a
contender.

Yes, I had mentioned previously that he's the perfect lug to put in
front of the net.

I missed the first 4 games while travelling. How'd they do? <rifles

0-4 <rifles through newspaper> Oh, wait! They 2-1-1, are in first
place in the Pac, tied with the Ducks with two games in hand! So its
just the usual suspects being pessimistic, eh? I'll fire up the DVR
and let you know what I thinkof the 2007-8 Sharks later, but without
having seen a single play, I have to say coming home from a tough road
trip in first place to start the year looks pretty good to me...

I didn't see the game as per my "wake me when they start playing
hockey" comment. Sounds like they're still not worth watching.

However, saw the highlights. Two comments: Toews looked awesome on the
goal, made Carle look quite immobile. The Michalek goal looked like an
instant replay of the PP goal by Sakic in the Colorado game. Note to
Sharks: mimic creative plays by opponents more often

yeah, yeah, yeah.....

Believe me, they've looked ugly doing it and lost handily to the only
team above .500. Aside from the mere record, they have looked EXACTLY
like the team we've seen underachieve in the playoffs for three
straight years.

OK, it's early, and things could change, but they need to play a lot
better than these four games, or the top teams will beat them now and,
more importantly, later.

I think if you it seemed play you would not be so upbeat.

Just plain sloppy play, no forecheck to speak of and little in the way of
solid defense! Has not been the Blackhawks it may have been a another
disaster.

I believe they can play better (much better I hope) but if they don't we are
in for a long, long season.
