Well I hope everyone had a safe and happy one. And I hope no one got
coal. Well at least I hope *no Rangers* fans got coal. After all I know
we've all been good. You Devils fans are on your own with the coal.
Islander fans? Are there any?

I think every electric outlet in my house has some type of charger
plugged into it. Just doing my part to keep PSEG afloat. Lord knows they
need my money.

So during the couple days off I'm watching that 1994 DVD set that Santa
brought me. Today was the first time I ever heard Gary Thorne's call on
Matteau's series winner. Up till now it was either Howie Rose or Sam
Rosen. I know it's not cool to say it but I like Thorne's game. I enjoy
it when he starts yelling and screaming. But man, was he out to lunch on
that call. Gary it was the semis, not the finals. After Matteau scores -
"1940 is history!" Was that he way of trying to jinx the boys. That
would have lived in infamy for years if the Rangers choked away that Cup.

Yea, I know about Richter's heroics but Messier was a monster in that
third period of game 6 vs the Devils. All over the ice dominating the
game. Almost forgot what a great Ranger he was before all the bullshit
started.

And if anyone thinks the game hasn't changed, the holding clutching and
interference was outrageous. Almost comical when compared to today's
standards. You know what? I like the game better.

Happy New Year!

Timmy

I was able to watch the NHL network for a little while on Christmas
day, as the house I was at had satellite instead of cable. They were
highlighting the 2001 Finals, and it was laughable all the hooking
that was going on. Guys would try as hard as possible to hook onto a
guys hands and ride him into the zone. Madden had a semi-breakaway
and was hooked/held/slashed by 3 Colorado defensemen. No call, of
course. It was really funny to see the clear-cut differences.

Are you a closet Devils fan?!?

Too bad he never stops....

It was a double-reverse-triple-dog-opposite-jinx. Thorne is so freaking
stupid, any ''jinx'' he makes will automatically never happen. It's
sorta like Melrose picking the Rangers to win anything--better luck next
time, guys!

Much as I'd have preferred Messier to do that sooner, he still proved
that he was The Man (TM). He almost could have plunged the Rangers into
utter mediocrity and still not sullied his reputation. Oh, wait, he did
that. Anyway, the only way he really could have tarnished his Rangers
reuptation unrecoverably would have been to win a Cup for the Isles or
Flyers.

I've got a Stevens game worn you can borrow. It would be my pleasure.
Security deposit needed beforehand though lol.

I swear, at some point before I die, I will wear a Scott Stevens NJ
Devils jersey at Tims house. You're all witnesses.
