This game was over after the first period last year.
2-2 now.

The Flyers spent 3/4 of the second period in their own zone. They are lucky
they are only down a goal - this should probably be a 5-2 game right now.
Richards is playing tremendous, Carter pretty good as well but the rest are
skating in sand. Briere has been silent but with Gagne out early, it may
take some time to adjust. Doesn't look good at this point but they've
pulled some other games out when they were in this situation so we'll see.

And in the past, the Flyers would outshoot their opponents and lose,
shots right into the goaltender's midsection.

Saw the entire game. Not every game is going to be a masterpiece this
year.

I remember some of those games. They'd get 44 outside shots, easily
handled, and of those about a half dozen scoring chances.

I hope this game was just a stinker from having the last 4 days off, and I
hope you're right, so we'll see what they come out with tomorrow.
