Honestly did Syd the kid seem to be crying on the bench after getting his
ear pinched by the Lats crosscheck???

Nah, Crosby saves his crying for on the ice where the refs can see it.

*Devil's Advocate here for a sec...*

Funny how we're all slagging Crosby for being a whiner, embellisher,
etc, but in the final year of his contract, we're going to pave a road
made of gold from Pittsburgh to Montreal for him, and all fans will be
lining up to make out with his rear end. We won't seem to mind the
whining and oscar performances if he's wearing the CH.

I'm not sayin'...I'm just sayin'.

Crosby is an emotional primadonna. Would I want him in a CH? Of
course. But let's call a spade a spade.

It would be nice if you could build an NHL team with only players who
are not only skilled players but also great, perfectly-behaved
individuals.

But that's not very realistic. So I don't see anything hypocritical
about saying that I'd take the guy on my team. (I do think you could
have an interesting discussion about whether the salary you'd have to
commit to Crosby could be better spent elsewhere, but that's a
different issue.)

And I disagree that none of us will mind his whining. Of course we
all tend to be a little biased, and there are some Habs fans who think
nobody in the bleu, blanc et rouge has ever done anything wrong, but
they're hardly a majority. A lot of us didn't appreciate Mike
Ribeiro's antics and said so. I always knew that Claude Lemieux was a
sonofabitch; he was just OUR sonofabitch for a while. Hell, Rocket
Richard richly deserved that suspension that triggered the riot. Of
the current Habs, I'm sure that the general dislike around the league
for Max Lapierre isn't entirely undeserved.

It's not as though people are saying Crosby is a horrible person or
should be kicked out of the league. His whining is mildly annoying to
many of us, and we're saying so. We're not comparing him to a thug
like Bertuzzi or a punk like Avery. (And if Avery had Crosby's
talent, I don't think I would want him on the Habs regardless.)

He was crying because he knows that even though his team is far
superior to Montreal, they will never beat them without getting them
to wear another jersey, say, the Islanders for instance. Same holds
true for about 75% of the leagues teams. He wants to be able to cross
check from behind just like "Lats", twice no less, and not get a
penalty. Get that CH on your shirt Sid....

Huh? Carboneau was league wide well known for his constant whining.
Kind of ironic, since he made his career cheating hooking and
holding.

Yep. They pass out the for Frank J. Selke Trophy cheating, hooking and
holding.

As for his "whining". Seems he always wanted to play for the Beaners.
