Try again. Detroit beat Nashville in the first round and Theodore
makes $6 million.

Joseph was paid more but there wasn't a salary cap. If a salary cap
had been instituted at the start of that season Joseph would have been
paid $6 million. >> Stay informed about: Crying eyes in denver |

True enough, but then again, Cujo never was never a league MVP or a Vezina
trophy winner for that matter. >> Stay informed about: Crying eyes in denver |

Theodore makes $5.3m. That's his cap number, and that is all that is
relevant.
CuJo made more than that. So my point stands.

Irrelevant.

....which is more than JoeTed. And you'd still be on the hook for $8m
worth of Hasek and over $1m of Legace. So, again, my point stands.

Agreed. Kroenke might not agree, but since he's willing to pay the
cap, only the GM cares about making Stan happy.
>CuJo made more than that. So my point stands.
What CuJo made before the cap doesn't compare with what Theodore made
after the cap. Apples and oranges.
Nowadays, it's easy to determine what the true costs of a player are -
and they are "what they could have had instead for that money". >> Stay informed about: Crying eyes in denver |

Not with regards to this argument.
Read above.
Hockeyguy said that JoeTed is the highest paid backup in league history.

If that's all that matters, then cap money isn't an issue, only total
paid.
But since it isn't my money, I measure "highest paid" in opportunity
cost. That means cap money now, it isn't so clear what it meant
before. >> Stay informed about: Crying eyes in denver |

If he meant relative to a capped NHL, then he should have said that. He
didn't.

Up above. But what was not mentioned was that Cujo was the steal of the
year- regardless of price. It was reported everywhere- non-stop. I
remember getting up, and seeing that Gainey had finally unloaded that piece
of wood that had become Jose as an absolute fuc**ng miracle. Could not
believe it- had to call other Habs fans!!! I mean- who IN god's name would
pick up Jose?? with that salary??? Who?? Thank god. I still think Gainey
is an absolute GOD to unload that guy. A fuc**ng genius.

He was certainly a more highly and sort after goalie at the time of
his signing than Theodore was when he was traded. BTW Joseph lost his
job to Hasek while Theodore lost his Budaj who was little more than a
rookie. >> Stay informed about: Crying eyes in denver |

Try and keep up seeing that Hasek returned about $4 million because he
couldn't play because of injury. How much did Theodore return because
he literally couldn't play?

IMO there is no shame in being Hasek's back-up but backing up Budaj is
a horse of a different color.

Fuck UofM - I love to see them lose...watched the entire game...loved it!
Hell their best play was a BS roughing the kicker pentaly.
I am sick of UofM getting basically prime talent and then embarrasing
themselves it seemed like every year in the rose bowl or some other bowl.
Recall when UofM was a premire BB school - now watch it happen to the
football program. They have not won a game since Bo died for
christsakes....screw em. Notre Dame is another mess - Wies gets a
extension for doing squat - unreal - he has yet to win a big game.
The only downside for next week's game is that both teams can not lose... >> Stay informed about: Crying eyes in denver |
