Hmm...yes and no. It was a national media production, but for
instance they followed Kevyn Adams around for a day. There's lots of
behind the scenes stuff, of course, and the kind of on-ice talk that
*should* be presented in those "Mic'd Up" spots they love to pump up.
The main part of the DVD is a recount of the entire year and lasts
about 1.5 hours. There's probably lots of footage in there that you
haven't seen...I know a lot was new to me.

Bonus stuff includes:
- Game 7 in its (near) entirety. It is the NBC broadcast, but it is
in widescreen format. I'm guessing that it isn't in HD, but it does
show more of the ice than standard 4:3 does. If you have a widescreen
TV you'll love it, but on a standard TV it reduces the overall size of
the picture. Still, I'd rather have in widescreen. Probably for disk
space, the broadcast doesn't have hardly any replays. But it does
have much of the immediate on-ice celebration, up until the point that
Staal hoists the Cup. I noticed that Davidson mentions that "this
building is going to erupt when Erik Cole hoists that Cup" yet there
telecast ends premature to that occurring.
- Game 7 post-game locker room speeches by Laviolette, Brind'Amour
and Wesley. Way too short...I was chomping at the bit to watch this
and it was finished just as I was getting warmed up.
- "Vignettes" on Staal, Ward, Whitney, and Commodore. They were all
good, with some home-movie footage of the Staal's home rink in Thunder
Bay, but again, too short.
- For whatever reason, it includes a song played by some unknown
band. Of course the song is very bland and doesn't belong on the DVD,
but whatever possessed the producers to include it is beyond me.
- NHL promotional shorts, the "My Stanley Cup" commercials. The last
one is Brind'Amour's. I never saw it, and I wonder if it wasn't done
posthumously.
- "Best of the playoffs" featurette. Again, very short.
Overall: well worth your $20.
