His stats in '05 were good.

But, '06 and '07 (29 points in 46 games) they were hurting.

17th overall pick? I guess we shouldn't get our hopes up.

It's because he's a third rate Pavel Bure who chokes under pressure. Once
people actually saw him play outside of Siberia and pressured him, he
choked.

Those numbers are record breaking for a rookie in the russian league.
The kid has lots of talent. Hes going to be a player.
He has deceptive speed. Great playmaking ability and knows how to finish.
He will be a top 6 forward if not franchise type winger.
The only reason he wasnt drafted in the top 5 is because teams were afraid
of not being able to bring him over from russia. Which was a non-issue in
reality. Once his contract expires, he is free to come over.

Those were record setting numbers genius. If you don't know what the heck
you're babbling on about, try educating yourself first... as foreign a
concept as that may be.

His numbers in 06-07 as a rookie in the super league are fantastic. He set
the rookie goal scoring record. Granted he needed more games than Bure but
we're talking about Bure here. It's the next season that is going to very
interesting because all the scrutiny and pressure are going to be on him.

Indeed. Stats in Russia are all well and good, but let's see how he
manages when he gets on the ice in the NHL. He's an interesting
prospect, I really hope he does well.

Every single one of those records he broke was when he was playing as an
unknown from around Siberia. As you may or may not know, that region
doesn't get scouted hard. He came into the league and nobody knew about him
or paid him any attention. Imagine what Gretzky's numbers would have been
like had he not gone up against top defensive lines. That's what it was
like his rookie season. Then, people saw how good he was, and, as you'd
expect, his stats declined drastically. He'll be a top 6 forward.

Please stop being an uninformed twat. He played for Omsk. A team that other
teams are going to bring it against game in and game out. He played on a
VERY high profile line with two well known(and well defended) talents,
Kuryanov and Popov. When he first came into the league he started out slow
until he was able to adjust and then he caught fire. And that continued into
an exceptional playoffs when EVERYBODY knew about him as he was the highest
profile young talent in the league by this point. He also had a great World
Championship tournament where he was the focus of his teams attention. So I
implore you, as hard as it may be, stop talking out of your ass. Now go
stick your head back into the Missouri River you slut.

Oh, the World Championship tournament where he played against the
lower-ranked teams and most NHL scouts there agreed that he was dominant in
those games yet disappeared against the higher-ranked teams? And yes,
calling me a slut and twat, that's a great way to have a convincing
argument...against a 7th grader maybe. But hey, what else would I expect
from New Yorkers?

When you mentioned Pavel Bure, I knew exactly what you were getting
at. This kid is going to have alot of pressure on him and he is going
to have to mature quickly. I never saw him on film, but the stats were
telling, exactly the way they would be once you begin playing with
ones true peers. It's going to be about 'heart' with this kid.
