The Flyers waived Jim Dowd and Rory Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick had a 1yr
contract for $550,000.
That is alot of money. It must be nice to make that much in one year. I
realize that is small compared to the big names, but it is alot for a middle
class guy like me. He didn't play much. I'am sure he is not happy being
waived, but if he gets $550,000 for this year, he is well compensated.
I must be getting old. To me the best way to watch a hockey game is in
on TV. I get to see everything clearly, uninterrupted, with some usually
good commentary and insights. I can't see paying to go to the game, paying
for gas and parking, and then paying high prices for beer and snacks. What
bothers me most is the noise now. All these arenas now have this blaring
noise starting when each play stops and ending with the drop of the puck for
the resumption of play. Is there ever any silence?
Are there any arenas that do not constantly force this noise on its fans? I
remember when it was different, it wasn't so loud and obnoxious.

Those damn kids today-- with their loud music, baggy pants and backwards
baseball caps!

Hmmm, judging by the crankyness of the post, the silence might be coming
sooner than you think.
