20 games. Fair penalty and hopefully the League will be as severe on future
head hits.

Jeez, talk about rubbing his nose in it. New precedence set here
today, but wow...20 games. The kid will be meek when he returns.

If that hit was worth 20 games, there should be a few non-stick-
related 40-gamers handed out before the end of the season. Fair?
Maybe. Will the league be consistent? No.

I am a lifelong Flyers fan, but I think 20 games is a fair and
appropriate punishment.

20 games is bullshit. Simon got 25 games for trying to literally
decapitate someone. Downie gets 5 games less for a hit that was
legal, but immoral. I was expecting 10, which would've been too
much. 20 is just retarded. Man, it should be an interesting year for
suspensions. Or is this one of those ""who you are"" and ""what
uniform you're wearing"" scenarios?

Comments by Colin Campbell to Inquirer's Tim P:

"We're not saying shoulder hits to the head are illegal. Only if all the
other criteria come into play. We don't want to take shoulder hits to the
head out of the game."

I argued a point with Colin. As long as shots to the head are not outlawed,
there is always going to be a "gray" area in hockey as to what is a legal
hit and illegal hit. And there is going to be concussions.

"Tim, if we take out hits to the head, do we ban fighting then?" Campbell
asked me. "I don't want to eliminate hitting from hockey. Shoulder hits to
the head are still a legal body check. What we don't want to do is having
players skating around with their heads down and looking for the league or
referees to protect them."

Why not take all hits to the head out of the game? The comment about
fighting is ridiculous.....
