Too bad about Drury. Looks like Big Apple glamour eclipsed
California's bright sunshine.

No question about keeping Marleau unless some unexpected and warranted
deal arises. I think the rumors about him having to go if they landed
Drury were overblown to begin with.

Looking at all the free wheeling going on in the NHL, especially with
the defensemen, one has to wonder what DW's thinking. Having Joe
Thornton for four more years is nice; winning a Cup is nicer, and that
requires going to the wall at some point, not just being "prudent."
No improvement in Sharks' defense and power play equals no Cup.

It's way past the point where anybody should care about the Sharks
being "competitive."

Yep they're keeping Marleau. There are still some UFAs out there. I've
always liked Gelinas. I think he would upgrade our checking line.
Souray is hopefully still a possibility. I don't think Peca makes
sense.
