From an NHL standpoint, too bad this isn't new York vs. Toronto ...which
would be the ratings boost the league needs. And you know I am a Canes fan!

But this looks to be a very evenly matched Wales Conference Final. I can
see it going seven. But I think it will be a very exciting series.

I think I know who supermario will be pulling for, ABC, "Anyone but
Carolina"...:-p

How about everyone else?

heheh.

i think that i'd actually have to pull for the 'canes if it ended up
carolina vs. anaheim in the finals. so there's a little feather in yer
cap! ; )

the dicey goaltending situtation for SJ is finally surfacing and it
looks as though oilers will advance.

so i guess sabres vs. oilers would be my first choice. now that should
all but lock up finals berths for the 'canes and ducks!

LOL...well when I moved to Albany from NC...and drove through Hartford with
my NC plates and Canes bumper stickers etc. I did get a few middle
fingers...:-p

The series should be exciting...both the Canes and Sabres have a lot of
similarities....Miller is more proven than Ward. But the Canes have I think
a deeper team offensively and defensively.

And Recchi really has fit in. Him and Weight have played great when on a
line...but Recchi, Whitney and Weight have been a fun trio to watch when
paired together.

I have an odd feeling Recchi may just stay in Carolina next season.

Yeah it does.

This series has the potential to be brutal. If ever there was a series that
had seven games written on it before it even started it would be this one.
Having said that it may be over in four given my expectations thus far.
Both of these teams have played over their heads and it will be a shame to
see one exit the play-offs.

On another note, did the NHL screw the pooch on not letting ESPN carry these
games or what? This has been some of the most exciting hockey in ages. I
heard one sports commentator say yesterday that given the NHL's situation
with needing to come back and gain fan support once again, they should have
paid ESPN to carry the games if need be! Some great hockey going on and
many outlets don't even carry OLN.
