According to the Globe this morning the Bruins got the eighth pick in
the upcoming draft. Chicago actually moved up 4 slots to get the
number one pick and Philly will be picking second.

I've heard that this years draft isn't going to be as deep as last
years. Hopefully there will still be someone that can help the Bruins
out quickly, without having to spend a year or two in Providence first.

This draft isn't likely to produce any players that will play a
significant ammount next year. Lokk at last year's crop - Kessel was
the only pick that really contributed this year - and that was
stronger draft than this year.

I expect the Bruins to pick a forward - what they really need is a Can
Neely clone. Those type of players take years to develop - remember
Vancouver gave up on Neely before the Bruins swiped him.

Brandon Sutter - yes that Sutter family - would be my pick. He need
to fill out but no doubt he could bring some jam to this peanut butter
line-up

I think Jordan Staal of Pittsburgh would have something to say about
that.

You may have forgotten that Staal boy in Pittsburgh that was drafted
last year.

Yeah, I did miss him - for some reason I thought that they drafted him
a year earlier, but It was the Rangers that drafted his brother a year
before. Either way only the #2 (Staal) and the #5 (Kessel) played this
year. Expecting the #8 in a weaker draft to contribute immediately is
wishful thinking.

There are always exceptions - Bergeron was one, but that is a
rarity.

If you want immediate help - Bertuzzi would be a nice fit on short(er)
money if you could keep him healthy.

I don't think this club should be looking at immediate, short term
solutions...
