Should Matt D'Agostini find himself an apartment?

"Obviously for me, he's been amazing since he's been here," said
Carbonneau emphatically when I prompted him with that exact question.
"We always talked about him in the past and knew he had the talent, he
just needed to find that consistency and kinda work on other aspects of
his game. But he's paid his dues in the American League, he's worked
extremely hard this year, and now we see the result. I think he's ready
for the NHL, and he's making his point right now."

Looks good for the kid to stick. Gotta like it. Read the rest of his
story here:

SO far this year, there hasn't been many players that have exceeded
expectations, but many that have failed to meet them through a combination
of either poor play or bad luck. D'Ags however, is the one unqualified nice
surprise so far. He can't keep up his current 50-goal scorer pace, but he
does seem for real, seems involved. Has a simple north-south game but also
a nose for the net, which is probably what this team needed since so many
of the others like to dipsy-doodle east and west. IMO, the ideal
replacement for Ryder, with a higher upside.

Once or if everyone is healthy, they will have to move someone. The
way D'ags is playing, if they did lose a player to waivers, I doubt
the return on the waived player would have been greater then what
D'ags will give the team this season

Well, Dandenault is the current long pole on injuries, right? And
that could take us into February, so there's lots of time for things
to sort themselves out. And even then, I'll be surprised if we ever
have everybody healthy again.

Dandeneault's best hope to remain on the roster would be if he could
stay on the IR until roster limits are relaxed at the trade deadline
(Unless someone else heads to the IR as Dandy comes off of it.)

I think the next move could be forced, if a defenceman gets called up,
such as Carle or Weber gets the chance to shine like D'Ags has.

Carbonneau - I think he's made great leaps as a coach this year from last, but I gotta say, if he doesn't stop carping about EVERY SINGLE PENALTY CALL then he's going to morph into Pat Quinn. Give it a rest, Carbo. They're not ALL horrible calls. Steve

Carbonneau - Nice to read this newsgroups for the last 10 days or so and not have anyone fire Carbonneau. Then again, I have several "plonkees" and I could have missed one or more...

What about Eric Lindros ? - Center, cheap, size ...

An interesting thought... - We're all expecting Price to rip it up in camp and turn Huet into excess baggage. But what if he doesn't? What if he and Halak are good, but not outstanding...and *Huet* is the best goalie? It gets a lot tougher for Gainey to pull the trigger on a..

What's happened to Souray? - Obviously he didn't want to return to Montreal, but if he ends up signing for 5 mill or less and doesn't go to the west coast isn't that just a little bit embarrasing for him? I think he overestimated his value some.
