FSN Pittsburgh To Carry At Least 70 Penguins Games

Aug 17, 2007, 9:50 AM EDT

FSN, the exclusive rights holder to Pittsburgh Penguins regional hockey
game telecasts, announced it will produce a minimum of 70 contests in the
2007-08 regular season.

Coverage on FSN begins with the season opener at Carolina on Fri., Oct. 5,
at 7 p.m. The Pens host the Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks on Sat.,
Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m.

“We are about to begin one of the most exciting seasons of hockey on FSN,”
said Steve Tello, FSN Pittsburgh Senior Vice President & General Manager.
“FSN plans to bring its viewers at least 70 games this season with 36 of
them available in High Definition.”

All 82 of the Penguins NHL games will be televised with at least 70 games
regionally on FSN Pittsburgh. Versus plans to carry eight games
nationally. In addition, the Penguins can be selected for up to four
regular season games on NBC. The NHL will offer flexible scheduling for
NBC with games selected for broadcast on NBC thirteen days prior to the
scheduled game.

Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey return as the Voices of Penguins Hockey on
FSN.

Outside of game coverage, FSN also will provide the team and its fans with
related programming highlighted by live on-site pregame Savran on
SportsBeat shows and extensive post-game coverage on FSN Live: Penguins
Edition.

The high definition schedule will be announced at a later date.

I have a question. I just purchased the sports package from DirecTV and the
Steelers preseason games have been blacked out here in Columbus. Will the
Penguins games be available to me here or did I just blow my money?

Suckas gots to know...

I'm in New Jersey. I have the the Center Ice and Sunday ticket pakages on
DirecTV. All the preseason games for both sports are always blacked out.
So all hope is not yet lost.
