Craig Hartsburg is the new coaching face in Ottawa. From here, that's
a relief. PQuinn would have done the job well, imo, and this has more
dice-roll to it.

Interesting point in the article is continuation of the Emery buyout
speculation. It'll be interesting to see how many of these issues end
up in a thin UFA market, eh?

This guy is only a slight upgrade over Paddock. Yet another anti-
championship, anti-playoff success move by the Senators.

His NHL coaching record certainly doesn't indicate that and explains
great deal why this guy has been in the coaching hinterlands for the
past 8 years. This is the last thing the Sens need to do at this
juncture. A Pat Quinn, Bob Hartley, Ron Wilson, or Crawford type big
name coach is what this team needed more than anything. Not a
reclamation project like Hartsburg. Bryan Murray will be back behind
the bench by February, guaranteed.

I don't buy that at all. Hartsburg brings discipline and experience. He's
a good coach.

Same page as you on this one ... strange move for where the Sens are
in terms of roster and expectations all around. Pat Burns, Pat Quinn,
Marc Crawford - all available, and all would make me reach for the
fridge handle. Hartsburg and deBoer look like Murray trying to
promote himself (another of those guys he finds). If this runs like
Paddock, Murray gets nailed for wasting a season of this roster.
