I hate to look past Buffalo too, but here's my 2 cents:
First thing; Ottawa isn't Anaheim!
Ottawa is firing on all cylinders and is getting output from the
entire team. Anaheim has some passengers right now and they are not
challenging the Wings. Their best players through the regular season
(Selanne, MacDonald) are not producing.
Ottawa will be a very tough opponent and will most definitely give
Hasek much more work then any team he has faced through the playoffs.
The Wings' defence is hurting without Schneider and Kronwall. I don't
think that Chelios can't keep up the pace of another series, especially
with the tenacious Ottawa forecheckers applying intense pressure.
If the Sens get past Buffalo, the final round will definitely require
that Emery raise his game. Both the Ducks and the Wings have more
offensive talent than the Sens have had to deal with yet.
So, even with Hasek playing lights-out and unconscious, Ottawa will
get lots of chances to score enough to win.
Whatever happens, this has been a great run. I was at the game
on Monday night and the crowd before, during and after the game
was incredible. I can't imagine the scene for a final series.
But first, finish off Buffalo as soon as possible and take the
rest and wait fir the other guys to beat their brains out.
