Archived from groups: rec>sport>hockey>field (more info?)

This was the first year that my daughter tried field hockey in middle
school (USA) and all I can say is that the stick material does make a
difference. She plays left wing and plays better with a composite
stick. She currently has a 36" STX velocity light stick (midi toe).
Which is pretty much disfigured in the toe.

The season is over (runs from August to November) and many of the high
quality sticks are on sale and I want to make a smart purchase. I've
research two and I would like anyones' opinion from the standpoint that
she plays left wing.

She wants a light stick, a midi toe, vibration dampening and she wants
to control and hit hard and she wants the best stick for her position.

I've googled and I came up with the TK CX1.0 PLUS and the Gryphon
Taboo Pro as the best sticks out there for left wingers. Please correct
me if I'm wrong and thanks in advance for your opinions.

Hi,

Im not a winger and have never tried this stick but from the write ups Ive
read the TK look the better one. It gives better control and hitting which
is ideal for a winger.

Yeah well i play field in Australia and for a wing id say that the TK
would be the best bet with good hittting power, control and a good
carbon construction.
The Gryphon Taboo Pro is top of the range and i would recommend it for
halfs.
But definately for wing the TK CX1.0 PLUS would be a great stick
