I listened to his interview with Adam Gold on The Buzz. Adam asked why
Wes has decided to return when he could retire happy. Wes stated that
he simply couldn't walk away from what he perceives as a legitimate
possibility of repeating as champions.

He also stated that he delayed his decision because he wanted to see
how the offseason signings would go. When it appeared that JR was
keeping the core together, it cinched Wes's decision to stay.

I've been very impressed with their re-signings. Repeating is pretty tough
to do, but I think he's right. This team does look good for next season (not
far off!)
