Thank god for internet radio broadcasts...
Were the wings as dominant as it sounded? It also sounded like Calgary
played like a bunch of armatures and Kipper kept it from being about 7 to 1?
Also sounded like Hank played a strong game. Calgary sounded like it is
going to try (snicker) to be the tough guys - does this send a message
nonsense work on a veteran team - do not think so. Calgary has offense
problems and now it seems defense problem also - 46 SOG.
Too much "it sounded like" - going to have to find a hotel that carries
Versus - about as tough as finding a book south of Virginia. Tried the
hotel sports bar route in the past but eventually 4 guys will walk over and
offer you a free dinner and a night of free beer if you will let them change
the channel...has happened more than once. >> Stay informed about: Game 1 - Stuck in a hotel |

It was pretty one sided. Flames sent a message at the end. I think it
said "Send help".

Definitely. The Wings looked totally ready for the game, and Calgary
did not. Their defense was as porous as I've seen it all year. As
for the rough stuff - every team that loses the first game of a series
badly does that - happened yesterday in the Pitt/Ottawa game also.

Calgary ?? I thought that was the Avs in their alternate jersey's. The
Wings dominated in every facet of the game. Nice start for the home team.
On a lesser note: Iginla, typical Canuck... puts up a big 0, then decides to
"play" tough instead. >> Stay informed about: Game 1 - Stuck in a hotel |

In all fazes of the game but dirty play.

Yea, Kipper made some unbelievable saves.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk both had strong games.

Heh, I just got back from the Norfolk/Hampton area of Virginia.

That don't work if you're expensing everything anyway :) However, I'll
be headed for Louisiana next week and will be asking the Hotel I book
if they carry Versus. >> Stay informed about: Game 1 - Stuck in a hotel |

This was one of hopefully many games where they played a full 60 minutes. If
they continue to do this, they'll roll to the WCF.
It also sounded like Calgary

Kipper did make some dynomite saves to keep the score down much lower than
it should really have been. Hasek let one trickle across the line as he has
a habit of doing late in the game to break the SO.
> Also sounded like Hank played a strong game.
Both Hank and Datz both were in a nice groove like they left off. Filppula
look good as well.
Calgary sounded like it is

And they only had 20 themselves. Iginla none. Could have used Bert's
presence in the end when the Flames started going after are smaller more
talented players. The refs should see a pattern in this eventually and the
PP should fix a lot of that.

Great game- I actually switched off the CBC coverage for VS. CBC guys were
terrible and really being homers- VS was much more balanced. Great checking
dominated the game completely. Dats got his first after getting stoned by
Mikkaa twice. He played great- made some beautiful saves. This is the
Wings I saw play Anaheim a few weeks ago- they looked great. On to Sunday. >> Stay informed about: Game 1 - Stuck in a hotel |

I don't know dude. I wouldn't want to be the Wings in game 2. And I sure
as hell wouldn't want to be them in game 3.
You don't take cheapshots at the centerpiece of the team. Not when
Phaneuf is still on the roster.

That's different though. Pittsburgh did it because they were blown out.
Calgary did it because the Wings ran Kipper.

Calgary's chippy play had definitely gone to a higher level before
Calder ran into Kipper. They had obviously already gone from playing
hockey to message sending. Honestly, the message looked more like,
"We haven't really bothered to show up tonight and this is how pissed
we are about it." >> Stay informed about: Game 1 - Stuck in a hotel |

Cleary busted in on Kipper forearm first and knocked him into the post.
Yeah, you can expect them to send messages after that. The Wings would
do the same exact thing if it were the Flames running Hasek.

I was talking about game 1. We'll see what happens next. Chelios looked
pretty scared.
