LOL. Thanks for the kind words, HG, but in last night's case, how
could anyone have a different opinion than that? :-)
Calgary was brutal. I'd expect a different game 2.
Anyone know why Regehr was out? He's Calgary's top shutdown guy, so
his playing or not is really important.

Versus - which I doubt any. Christ I may just go over to the hotels and sit
in thier little lobbies and change the channel to versus to watch the game -
I don't they will think I am not a guest. I amy be better off going radio
shack and buying a dish and bolting it to the window outside this three room
apartment thingy I am staying in. >> Stay informed about: Game 1 - Stuck in a hotel |

Oh and we are whinning again....the playoffs have just begun - give it a
break.... Even on the radio it sounded like nothing. Frankly why run him

For the record, I think Cleary meant to make contact - if perhaps not
as much as he did make. The Flames had poked Hasek once or twice that
I saw previously right before the Cleary/Kiprusoff play, and Cleary -
while looking backwards on his rush - didn't do anything to get out of
the way when he turned his head and got really close to Kiprusoff. He
just went in a straight line, and knocked the goaltender over. And
truthfully, that's kind of a cheap play.
And you know what? It was a good play on his part. That's exactly
what he should have done. This is the playoffs. No prisoners - kill
or be killed (if you'll pardon the semi-corny pun). The Wings have to
match the Flames aggessiveness, as it's really the Wings' biggest
weakness going into this series, the Flames were taking some baby
cheap shots at Hasek (and other players) there at the end, so someone
had to respond. 'You want to send a message Calgary? Right back at
ya.' Good for Cleary - he responded. Play it tough.
The Flames were really flat last night, but I'll wager that they're
going to play a very physical series from here on out, and the Wings
have to do the same.

I was able to find a sports bar in Crystal Shitty .... errrrr ..... City,
near DC National Airport that would show regular season Av games off of
their NHL Center Ice feed, I'm sure you shouldn't have a hard time finding
someone who will show RW playoff games. And last year around this time I
really lucked out. I was in Panama City, FL on the beach in a really nice
hotel/condo building. Because it served both condos and hotel rooms, they
had full up cable. So I had Versus, and was able to watch 2 Av-Star playoff
games from my room on the beach. That was way cool. Those were the days.
Then I watched Anaheim finish the Avs off at a Hooters in Mesa, AZ. Hockey
wise, those weren't the days. But at least I was at Hooters. >> Stay informed about: Game 1 - Stuck in a hotel |

Kind of interesting how people can see the same play so differently.

Yeah, ain't it great? That's what is keeping this group buzzing this
last week or so.
I am fairly sure Cleary intended to make contact, just as Iginla was
making contact with Dom, just as the Calgary defense was smacking around
Zetterberg and Datsyuk after the whistle earlier in the game, just as
Chelios was getting under somebody's skin at the end of the game, enough
to have the guy chase him around. I don't think any incidents were big
deals, it's how the game is played.
But, the table is set for the next game. I'll bet the refs will chuck
people into the box early and often to try to prevent any big incidents.
I'll also bet the Flames won't let the Wings wheel thru center ice as
they did last night.

Wow, yeah. What a great idea. I hear it's beautiful this time of year.
Grey skies, snow, traffic, farsi-speaking immigrants and white trash.
Boy howdy! That sounds like a great time to me!
