Great to see him doing so well. He's played on a few teams including the Oil
(who can forget his role in the 90 cup run?) but for the life of me I can't
understand why teams ever let this guy go. Congrats to him and the rest of
your hard working team! Any preferences Buff on who you'd like to face in
the next round? >> Stay informed about: Gelinas!!! |

I would prefer the Flames play the Avs.
I haven't seen the Sharks play much these playoffs... but I assume they're
a fast, defensive team similar to Calgary. San Jose has a lot of
productive forwards (ie. Marleau, Ekman, McCauley, Cheechoo, Sturm all
notched 20+ goals)... though they're not as talented a forward group as
Detroit.
The Avalanche strike me as a team that's more similar to Detroit (talented
offensively, but their collective team defence is worse than Calgary's).
I think Calgary would have trouble playing against a team with almost the
exat same style... but I think it would be tremendous if Kiprusoff (an
unwanted 3rd string goalie in San Jose) could defeat his old team in round
three.

The easiest team to beat! I think that both teams will be tough to play
against. Nabokov, despite losing the last two games, is playing great.
Any team with Forsberg ans Sakic is not a team you want to face.
Sometimes I think that they Flames could handle the Sharks better,
sometimes I think the Flames could handle the Avs better. At this moment
I'm thinking Avs if Blake stays out of the lineup... then again, Sutter
knows the tendancies of quite a few of the Sharks... I can't makeup my mind. >> Stay informed about: Gelinas!!! |

I was gonna say Avs, no scratch that.... Sharks.....no......can't decide
either. I feel the same as Eng that the sharks play a similar game and could
compete with Calgary in that style. While the AVS are of course similar to
Detroit. However if the AVS managed to beat the Sharks then they are also on
a hotstreak and would be gelled by then.
FWIW Watching the Wings and Nucks play you its been like watching boys
against men cept the boys have *been* the men if you get my drift. Every
tired cliche about experience, veteran leadership, in the playoffs has been
thrown out the window. Not taking anything away from your wins but it amazes
me how poorly the ALLSTAR top echelon teams in the league actually are in
the crunch. Guys like Lang, Datsyuk et all are just unfullfilling in the
playoffs.

Its looking like the Sharks are going to win tonite. 3-0... they scored
as I type this... 3-1 for the Sharks. A comeback is possible, but I'm
wondering if it can be done now. Wouldn't it be something if Avs win the
game by a score of 4-3 after being down 3-0 in the game? >> Stay informed about: Gelinas!!! |

I know. Its hard to choose your opponents, so I'll just let them decide
who gets to be whupped by the Flames! ;)

I was so worried that the Wings would tie up the series and then Datsyuk
would score a late 3rd period goal in the 7th game to tie up the game
and then score the winner second into overtime. Wouldn't that have been
something typical to add to the Flames woes of recent years. They get
screwed by a has been who finally breaks out, but just for one game.
Fortunately this team has turned their fortunes around and stuff like
that will occur few and far between.

I changed my mind now.
Whatever Sutter is doing for the next season, make room for Gelinas!
