In this posting I would like to talk about the third goal of The Netherlands
versus India. By my opinion it hadn't crossed the line completely and
therefore shouldn't have counted as a goal. I am, as a referee of reasonable
level in Holland, curious of the opinion of other people. By the way, I
think that with their play the Indians deserved at least a tie. That were
some great goals they made.

greetings

Why the match referee doesn't interfere in these cases?

He did, but only to calm the overheated indian protesters down. He didn't
interfere in the refs decision in any way. I donn't think that that's
possible either according to the rules. It has not yet gone as far as
icehockey or cricket, for that matter.

These are called "umpires" - -not refs or referees. If you are one as you
claim, I'm surprised to hear you refer to them as referees.
It would seem as odd as someone attending an American baseball game and calling
the person behind the plate calling the "balls and strikes" a referee - people
would look at you and wonder about you....

Mmmm... and exactly how good is your Dutch? Could you distinguish between
two virtually indistinguishable words in a foreign language?
