5 points out of 4 games. That's great if you look at who they played.
The 8-2 stomping of the Flyers and the win in OT against the Kings was
an amazing way to start it off. I really thought they would be able to
beat SJ, but nothing seemed to be working for them. Getting a point
against the best team in the NHL shows that the Penguins are really
starting to put together a solid, winning, contending team. I had a
good feeling that had Welch not have gotten called for that trip, which
did include some nice diving and acting by Selanne, the Pens would have
walked away with another point. I just felt like they started to put it
together the 2nd half of the 3rd period.

Good stretch nonetheless and it's good to come back to Pittsburgh on
the winning side of things.

Let's Go Pens!

Anaheim should have came away with many more goals. Fortunately for
the good guys JT was solid. I also thought the Pens started to rally
late but too bad they didnt play that aggressive earlier.

i didn't really consider the philly game as part of the road trip b/c
it wasn't out west, but if you throw it into the mix it does make the
overall picture look better-- despite the fact that the cryers are one
of the worst teams in the league right now.

the PP really has been struggling and cost them big in the SJ game.
hopefully they can turn it around at home.

some people might take exception to calling the ducks the best team
ahead of buffalo. they're both awesome right now; and the
pronger-niedermeyer tandem on D could give the ducks the edge in terms
of who's the best team.

too many penalties in general-- welch struggled all game and we really
missed eaton IMO (i hope he recovers quickly). i agree the pens were
coming on late, but the 2nd period was brutal, and while the PK was
admirable it was only a matter of time before the 2nd rated PP of
anaheim cashed in with 9 chances on a man advantage.

you can't debate the effort. they definately competed and showed they
can hang with any team. reduce the penalties and get the PP going
again and it feels like they can win on any night.
