Did we luck into something here, for once? I mean, he plays on one of the
best teams in juniors on maybe the best line, but he puts up numbers and has
a clue of what's going on around him....

His little slow center also kinda looks alot like Gomez. Not as a hockey
player, he actually kinda looks like Gomez. Maybe we should start bringing
in people that look like the players we lost. Sign this guy and a little
balding defenseman.

Mike, it's the off-season. You're off the clock.

Ok, I'm going drinking. Who's coming?

Did they give you a complimentary copy of "The Lost Weekend" when you
went through rehab?

Well, I don't really drink, but I'll warn you - it took three whole
bacardi and cokes to get me looped last night.

The update from last month's McKeen's

04/08/2008 - Will always be remembered for his OT gold medal-winning
goal at the WJC but is setting his sights on being a Memorial Cup
champion to punctuate his last season in junior .. his approach to the
game is already on a pro level .. he is smart and positions himself so
effectively in all three zones .. he is the defensive conscious on his
line .. his offensive skills are not to be outdone, as he has
sensational vision and the hands to feather a pass, whip a wristshot
just inside the circle or drive the net and unleash a backhand in
close .. led the team with six goals in the opening round .. plays
well within the team concept and is very patient, as he understands
systems and knows with good defense comes healthy offence .. has been
a general for this team with his unrelenting work ethic and ability to
put up points, as the success of the Rangers have a lot to do with his
play.

Yeah, I was watching their Memorial Cup games and I got a sense we got
lucky. Don't know that he's going to be great, but it looks like we
drafted someone outside of the first round that actually can play in the
NHL. And he actually looks like he has a brain.

Man, we've sunk pretty far. Oh well, it's better than the 86 Russians we
drafted that we can't sign/have no interest in signing.

I'm looking forward to seeing him in September and hoping he's not 100% a
product of a great team.

Be sure to watch the Memorial Cup final today at 4 if you can. His
Kitchener Rangers are playing Spokane... Should be a great final. Halischuk
currently has 32 points this playoff. He's played really well.
