| One heck of an unbelievably gutsy effort by the Pens with a short
bench on the road against the best team in the world. The Sharks need
Spock to do the Vulcan heart meld with various Pens and Sharks.

I was thinking that last night's game would be a good video primer for
what it takes to be a great team. The Sharks have miles to go. >> Stay informed about: Heart attack |

The thing that impressed me (and I have not watched very much non-Sharks
playoff hockey this year) is how both teams are so vastly superior at
advancing the puck into the offensive zone compared to the Sharks. Most
of the time the puck is skated or passed across and most of the players
can skate and maintain possession pretty well.

Notice how Holmgren's effectiveness is being negated by the refs not
calling holding and cross-checking penalties when he gets mauled in
front of the net. I didn't see him standing in front of the goalie as
much as he did during the regular season. >> Stay informed about: Heart attack |

I love how Gill absolutely cranked Holmstrom every time he stood
there. Penalty or no, he said to Holmstrom, I am going to crack your
bucket if you stand there. Took a couple of penalties, but Holmstrom
looked banged up, and doesn't look so brave any more. Just beautiful.
I think a lot more teams should do that, the pansy rules be damned. >> Stay informed about: Heart attack |

Frankly, it's been too wonderful for words to watch a couple games of
REAL hockey, instead of the namby-pamby nonsense we get dished out to
us in the regular season. The refs let them play, and it was as
exciting as it can get. There were only two very bad calls on that
golaie interference, but, fortunately, they didn't affect the outcome.
And, no, Mr. Bettman, we don't need any more of your dumb-ass ideas
for adding more scoring, as if that is what makes excitement. Just go
away, please!) >> Stay informed about: Heart attack |

In that case we'll need someone to defend the goal crease like Hal Gill
has done. The only one we have now is Murray. >> Stay informed about: Heart attack |
