If it weren't for his energy and drive to score, this team would still be as
pathetic as Toronto was against the Panthers! Just so disturbing that we
have pylons for a defence instead of hard-checking men with balls that won't
allow the opponents to come into our d-zone without paying a hefty price.
Obviously the lessons of Anaheim need a hard repeat for players like Redden,
Phillips, Volchenkov, Corvo and especially Meszaros!

5-4 Ottawa ... let's hope they can hold it!!

The other effect Heatley has on the game is that the other team has to adjust
their game plan to cover his line. When Alfie gets back, it makes it even
better. Without these guys, the other team does not have to concentrate on
shutting down the league's best line.

Emery played very well in the third. He made some key saves late in the game
to preserve the one goal lead.

The defence definitely needs some work. However, I would not put it all on
them as the forwards also start running around in their own end and miss checking
assignments.

Anyway, this win with the Habs loss makes it a pretty good night.

He also played very well in the first. Made 15 saves, sure, there was
a goal scored, but he still stood up in that crease to stop some wild
shots.

I do agree however that having Heater back makes a difference. Like
that play where all the Florida guys converged on Heatley and left
everyone else wide open for a goal.
