You don't even understand that 'split the betting public' and 'make
money off of people like you' are synonymous. Do you at least
understand that 'split the betting public' does *not* mean 'predicting
the likelihood of a given outcome' but actually means 'predict the
likelihood of *the public betting* on a given outcome', and that
therefore trumpeting around the spread as if it's some authoritative
evidence that one outcome is more likely than another is completely
ridiculous?

I don't bet, because I know I'd lose my shirt eventually. Were I to
bet, I'd never take the Jets, simply because I know they're watching my
bets so they know when to mail it in. I suspect the handicappers and
the Jets are in collusion to push me into bankruptcy. I'm utterly
convinced that someone in the Jets organization has a clause in their
contract that gives them an enormous bonus if they can kill me from
frustration before I turn 40. (Actually, Sather must have that in his
contract, too.)

I think you lost your shirt, and your mind somewhere back in the
1970's.

Are you complimenting me or making fun of me? Knowing you, as only I
do, probably both. So, thank/damn you.

How was that any different.... - How was that waved-off goal in Buffalo any different than the one in game 1 against the Rangers? Why did that one count, and this one didn't? By the way, VS. is absolutely terrible. Joe Beninati? Why don't they just get Rick Jeanerette or some other....
