Stastny and Hlinka - Man, the kid looks good, doesn't he? It's not just offense, either. Usually, a kid comes in and offense is the first thing he does well, and it takes a long time for his defense to come around. Anyone who remembers Yzerman's first five or six years ..

Question for the group: Did Buffalo do the right thing? - Matching $7M+ per year offer for Vanek? Or should they have given him up and taken next 4 1st round draft picks? Chris

Avs after Sopel - to Eklund. -Thomas

The bar has been set - Crosby signed for $8.7M per season. 28 goal guys are going to be getting $6M per year soon. Chris

Bullshit Eklund Rumour - I had to laugh at this one... Are The Leaves Changing Early this Year? trade here involving some of the Leafs young d-men, for Hejduk. Avs need cheap pointmen, Toronto has a lot. Could be and Jay Harrison. Toronto needs to move..

Wasn't there a whole lot of hype coming from this camp regarding this guy as
a steal or at the least.....a hell of a bargain for the Avs? Or something
along these lines anyway.

Cant help but notice his production thru 8 games.

1st game 2 assists, 3 SOG.

Since then:

0 goals
0 assists
0 points
-8 +-
0 PIM
10 SOG

Who's responsible for this addition anyways?

My god even Maltby's got 2 goals on a 1st place team.

How's you guy's 2nd line working out for you? We dumped ours in the off
season and look how we've made out so far with a bunch of Griffins.

Just imagine. Your baseball team is stealing all the headlines in Colorado.

Just who's responsible for this anyway?

PG?
Q?

Who's first to go.

Tick tick tick tick.

Wait till Sakic's no longer able to center the 1st line.

I didn't think it could get much worse.

I beginning to believe I may have been mistaken.

Its no big deal, he's our version of Jiri Hudler. Except we don't really
need him.

He's getting third line minutes now. Can't expect him to score when he's
playing 7 minutes a game with Arnason and Laperriere.

He played himself off the 2nd line. Thats all he's earned was those 7
minutes

penalties.

Didn't he call out Smyth right before Smyth had his hatty?

Smyth played a good game last night as well. So did Svatos and Wolski.

Svatos is the key. Wolski, I still get the feeling is trade bait. Svatos
is the guy we need production from, because when we deal Wolski,
someone's got to make up for his offense.

Trading Wolski now would be be idiotic in the extreme, but we now know
that Svatos is another Parrish or Ryder.

Speaking of Svatos, didn't Walk claim his 30 goal season was as big of
fluke
as Cleary's 20 goal season last year? At present Svatos is on pace for
27 goals,
Cleary is on pace for 8 which will like land him 4th on the team by
season's
end.

I don't recall mentioning them in the same post. Perhaps I did.

And NINE assists, giving him 36 points. His playmaking abilities are
obviously setting the world ablaze.

Scott Hannan is on pace to finish a mind-boggling -54!!! Somebody
grab a record book.

The Colorado Avalanche are currently on pace to finish with NINETY
POINTS!!!

>Cleary is on pace for 8 which will like land him 4th on the team by

Henrick Hindenburg is on pace for 57 goals. Hot damn!

The Detroit Red Wings are on pace for 123 points!

The Ottawa Senators are going to go 73-9!!

Not at all. Trading him now would be the best move we could make with
regards to him. His stock is high - everyone sees him as a talent young
future star and not what he is...a second-line forward with poor
decision making skills, very little hockey sense and questionable
long-term potential.

If we wait, his stock will drop. Sell now while we can get a ton for him.

> but we now know
> that Svatos is another Parrish or Ryder.

....which isn't a bad thing.

I think I posted here about this. I'd be fine with 27g 9a. That's still 27g.

Drury is a post-season player - The Rangers haven't been a post-season
team.
