Apparently Carter has agreed to a 3 yr 15 mill+ contract, which will
finally put to rest the goof rumours created by our dork local media
that the Canucks were going thow an offer sheet at him.
He wasn't going anywhere, but that didn't stop 'em from trying to
pretend they had inside super duper secret sources.
It was funny on this afternoons Pratt , he was touting ' what we are hearing '
[ note the royal we ], or ' what we are being told ', or ' our sources are
telling us ' [ note the royal us ], that the Canucks have offered Kesler and
their first round pick for Jokinen. And then went on discuss whether Gillis
was doing the right thing. Talk about bullshit.

Not to take away anything from your point about the dork media (and it
wasn't just the Vancouver media) but why would Philly keep three
natural, first line centers when they need a mobile defenceman?
What they weren't going to do was throw away a player for a couple of
first round picks. Or a first, second and third, if your $number is a
bit high. I think they'd like to move Briere but his salary is high
for most teams.

In addition, there was no way they wanted it to get to the point where
other teams could throw a ridiculous offer sheets at him, and they'd
be screwed matching or not matching.

They don't have access to my secret source. :-)
[ and since db is on a roll, sudb, don't even think of creative snippage
on that last word ].
