RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes signed right wing Jesse
Boulerice to a one-year contract Wednesday.
Boulerice, who is entering his fifth NHL season, finished with 64
penalty minutes in 38 games last season. He will earn $450,000 at the
NHL level and $75,000 at the American Hockey League level.

He spent parts of three seasons with the Hurricanes before being traded
last year to St. Louis in the deal that brought Doug Weight to
Raleigh.<<<

well, i might be the only one that is glad to see him back, but this is
great news for me - i've always been a fan of this guy.

my guess is he'll spend alot of time in the AHL, but we'll just have to
wait & see.

Nope...me too. I thought he was starting to gain a foothold into
being more than an enforcer at the end of 2004, and now I can hope for
that once again.

And that's not such a bad thing for the Canes...to have someone like
Jesse who can come up and instantly fit in.

I'm willing to bet I will see him play more games here in Albany than you
will in Raleigh.

He only played 26 of about 50 games with the team and was basically in
Lowell when traded. (He was brought up the day before). He played 76 games
with the Canes in 04.

I think if he remained with the team he probably would not have made the 41
game minimum or had played in the finals to get his name on the Cup.

It is a total depth move, but you are right at least the organization knows
what he can do and what he brings to the team.
