I was sitting at home tonight, "reveling" in the Devils victory over
the hated Rangers. I tried to get my mood up. "That was a win that
should help the team forget about the previous two loses," I said to
myself. "That Parise goal was nice to watch," I quietly thought.
But then I looked out the window and watched all the people staring
back at me, as if I was in some sort of cage. An animal on display,
for all to watch. I wasn't jolted by the excitement of team triumph
for very long.
Then Kevin Weekes called me up on my phone. I don't know how he got
the number, but after watching Scott Clemmensen in the last three
games, he's about as suicidal as me. If not more. He was all,
"They're going to play me in one of these Western Conference games,
and I am going to totally blow it! Totally! 5 goals on 5 shots and
then pulled and sent down to the Trenton Titans. Not even to Lowell
first. I've never been to Trenton! Is it nice? Will they shoot me?"
"Maybe," I said. I told him that I had never been to Trenton, either.
He started muttering something and then hung up. I hope he's okay.
Anyway, odds and ends and my final* thoughts:
- Hope the bad luck and Langenbrunner firing for Betelgeuse is over
with.
- Elias should be at the All-Star Game. But I think more than one
Devil at that thing isn't allowed, as they need at LEAST six Penguins
and probably the entire top two lines for the Flyers.
- 11 shorthanded goals, Renney? I'm surprised your circuit board
hasn't fried yet. Considering their point men, they'll have 20 by
March.
- I didn't realize the Rangers traded Brandon Dubinsky for Steve
Dubinsky. His numbers aren't very good this year.
- When Brodeur comes back, we should trade him because Scott
Clemmensen is the best goaltender in the NHL. At least, the best one
from Iowa to EVER play in the NHL.
- I finally remembered Jay Leach's name without going to NHLPA.com.
- Harry Potter plays for the Rangers!? How magical!
Signed,
R.J.

You must have been listening to Sherry Ross last night. She made the
same mistake. :-)

I was just happy that Sam Rosen wasn't calling the calling game.
Giannone is much more vanilla and easier to listen to when the Rangers
are playing the Devils.
Devs were on MSG+2 so no HD...Only the Ranger feed was HD.

Blame The Viceroy. The Viceroy can handle it. >> Stay informed about: Kevin Weekes reads this newsgroup. |
