Los Angeles Kings got the better of the Anaheim Ducks with a 4-1 win
before 17,551 O2 Arena fans in the first NHL regular season game ever
in Europe.

There was a 15-minute delay due to a lighting failure.

It was billed as the UK Premiere Series, and the two sell-out games
are being televised in 115 countries and follow three previous
successful season-opening games played in Japan in 1997, 1998 and 2000.

The Anaheim Ducks bounced back from their opening-day defeat against
the Los Angeles Kings to win 4-1 in the second game in London this
weekend.

They really looked flat in the first game. I've seen Shane Hnidy
twice in a Ducks uniform and he's been horrible in both appearances.

The excuse I kept hearing from the radio guys was that it's early and
the team hasn't had a chance to gel yet. Am I the only one who
doesn't buy this argument? I mean, each team has the same amount of
time to prepare for games. Were the Kings better prepared for game
1? Yes. Did they have more time for the team to gel? No.

It's going to be a long season if the players' reputations will get
them sent to the Sin Bin every other shift.

Good recovery in game 2.
