SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) - The Florida Panthers on Wednesday
re-signed restricted free agent left wing Kristian Huselius to a
two-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huselius, 24, was the Panthers' third-leading scorer last season
in his second full year in the NHL. He scored 20 goals and set
a career high in assists with 23.
"Kristian is one of the purest offensive talents in the NHL,"
Florida general manager Rick Dudley said. "Obviously, he is a
key player for our team now and is a big part of our future."
During his rookie season, Huselius finished second on the team
in scoring with 45 points and was a finalist for the Calder
Trophy.
The Panthers also signed right wing Juraj Kolnik and defenseman
Michel Periard to one-year deals.
Kolnik, 22, played in 10 games for the Panthers last season,
tallying one assist. Periard, 23, spent most of last season in
the Central Hockey League.
