That was a great game! Poor Sundin was pretty tired late but he still
managed to win the all important defensive end faceoffs in overtime. The
Bruins can (need to) learn a lot from him. I loved the Laefs and Sabres fans
at each others' throats all night. Nice rivalry.

I would still take Tim Thomas over Andrew Raycroft. I don't think TT will
ever get the respect he deserves.

I would pay just to watch Afinogenov skate around on the ice.

Many Sabres fans HATE going to those games because of all the people that
sell their seats to ticket-starved Leafs fans. It is at best a neutral
site game for the Sabres.

It was a good game though.

I've only been to a few games in each city, but to me there seems to
be a huge contrast
between the big event, almost glitzy, games in the ACC and the blue
collar feel of the games
in the HSBC.

I've never been to a game in the ACC (I'm not a billionaire or the Prime
Minister lol) but there is a difference. The crowd in the ACC is almost
entirely made up of business folks and Bay Street types. Buffalo? Not so
much...so you are right on track...

Who starts on opening night? - It had better be Thomas. Manny can find his game some other time. I saw Axelsson on the 4th line in SJ. Looks more and more like he'll be traded. B's are interested in Derek Morris or Markov? Which is better?

About JJ's comments... - I just checked on the salary commitment of Ottawa and Buffalo... Ottawa spent about 200 thousand less than the Bruins. Buffalo spent about 1.5 million less. The average team salary was 41.7 million. The B's spent about 43.7. Only 11 teams spent..

Yay! Allen and....who? - So we signed Allen and Byron Bitz.....SWEET (OK, UN-obvious Ballroom Blitz reference there!) NOW we are set. Wimper.

Byron Bitz Impressions - I was very fortunate in that I was able to attend several Cornell home games the last two years. I was aware that Byron Bitz was a Bruins draft choice, so I did pay keen attention to him. I can describe my impression of him as the second coming of..

Brad Stuart - I read that the B's lose the 4th Round Pick they got for Jurcina from Washington because Stuart didn't re-sign with the Flames. So, we got nothing for Jurcina. Oh well, at least Stuart didn't get the big money he had hoped for, he really mailed it in las...
