The league itself, is the ultimate retro league, its all the greatest players in NHL history playing for their respective teams. Ex Detroit (Yzerman, Howe, Zetterberg, Sawchuk). But there is only 1 of each player, so no Gretzky in Edmonton and Los Angeles. So the player options are almost limitless. It is a mixture of past and present players. Present players ratings will change depending on their stats in the NHL. So we can still try to build from present day rookies like Tavares and Stamkos.

There is a cap of $110M. There will be a draft, a few UFA's to start.

You can sign, trade, release players just like in any other league. If the league becomes a success can look into expansion as well.
