| All Mario needs is 1 more point and he will double his point total for
the season. I wish I was able to see this game. I am stuck watching the
Habs and Sens.

it probably has to be pre-2002-03 that lemieux last put up numbers like
that; Feb 8, 2003 reached 1000 career assists with a 4 assist night.
he had a few 4 point nights that year, but i don't think any 5
pointers. would that take us back to 2000-2001? surely one of those
nights against the rangers on a line with jagr he had to put up 5.
it's no coincidence though that his dropoff started the moment the pens
traded away kovalev. surovy, fata, meloche boileau, and a bunch of
other names i don't even remember, aren't exactly the best finishers
the NHL has ever seen. >> Stay informed about: Lemieux |

When was his last five point night?
Remember when those were almost nightly...at worse weekly occurrences.
(Not his age, more so how bad the league got)

I want to say New Years Eve 1988. or 89. I thought it was a home

When was the 5 goal game against the Devils? 5on5, PP, SH, EN & PS. Wow.
That game was in NJ, and he got a standing ovation... believe me... it is
NOT an easy task for visiting teams to get a SOvation in NJ. That was
total domination.
And while I'm on that subject, do ya remember who was in net for NJ? >> Stay informed about: Lemieux |

New year's eve 1989 in the IGLOO
but, mario did get standing ovations in boston (4G night), montreal (4G
in 3rd period for a 4-3 pens win!), philadelphia (return from cancer,
and '97 retirement game), and of course in '93 at madison square garden
(5G). >> Stay informed about: Lemieux |
